Higher Plating Profits
through Technology Implementation

If it’s lower operating costs and higher profits you want, it’s time to join forces with Electroplating Technologies, Ltd. ETL has developed the highest level of efficiency in electroplating sheet metal technology.

What Our Clients
Are Saying
"The results we’ve experienced with HydroJet are outstanding. We’ve essentially doubled the capacity of our plating operations by utilizing this custom-tailored technology. The expanded capacity will enable us to expand our markets."

James G. Belmonti,
Chairman & CEO
Precision Plating Company, Inc.

In early 1993, we began our R&D work on hydraulic cylinder rods and were soon able to set a world record plating rate. By applying ETL’s ElectroJet® technology, hard chromium was deposited on steel cylinder rods, at a rate of 25 microns (1 mil) in only 6 minutes.

By using ETL's HydroJet™ technology, we believe we can plate 25 microns (1 mil) of hard chromium in only 3 minutes. ETL is starting a program with other industry partners to prove out the higher deposition rate by the end of 2004. Also as part of the program, our consortium will experiment with Cr+3 as a replacement for Cr+6 in this series of R&D experiments.

For the past several years we have made our primary effort the continuous plating of flat rolled sheet metal, because of the commercial significance of that market. The result: ETL has developed two proprietary and patented methods and apparatus for electroplating flat rolled sheet metal: 1) ElectroJet®, a hydromechanical plating system and 2) HydroJet, a hydrodynamic plating system. Each system has proven capable of achieving the following results, based upon hundreds of millions of pounds of electroplated sheet metal product produced and shipped by ETL’s licensees:

Twice the plating rate vs. conventional plating processes.

Double the line speed related to plating rate.

Reduced labor costs by 30% or more.

Lower energy costs—input from rectifiers cut by 20% per unit product produced.

Lower environmental costs related to more efficient process which generates less effluent by-products.

Lower maintenance costs related to simple system design.

Coating metal savings—no "dog-boning".

These remarkable results are supported by the relatively LOW COST TO RETROFIT an existing plating line with ETL’s technology. The payback for such conversions is often less than six months, with ongoing savings and higher profits thereafter.

How affordable is our efficiency? The cost of implementing ETL’s technology and services package is about one-hundredth as much as other high efficiency systems used for continuous plating of sheet metal!

The word must be getting out: ETL has strategic business alliances with some of the world’s largest metals companies and electronic materials companies. Our technology has also been featured in 33 Metal Producing, American Metal Market, Iron and Steel Engineering, Plating and Surface Finishing and several other industry publications.
